From the recordings Life, Love, and Philosophy and Where Has The Love Gone?
I had been working on two songs at the time. I liked the chord structure for one, but I didn’t have enough material for lyrics. On the other, I had a full set of lyrics that I liked, but the tune was too familiar, and the sound was Country, which wasn’t what I wanted, so I fused the two songs together with this result. It’s about the 60’s, Peace and Love, and the Civil Rights movement which has been perverted and twisted by a bunch of Elitists who have set us against one another.
